Though not every game has been a success, Assassin’s Creed is one of the most well-known and popular games, with players committed to the series. Assassin’s Creed: Shadows
Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is the newest installment of the Assassin’s Creed series, set in 16th-century Japan towards the end of the Sengoku period. The story follows two characters, Naoe and Yasuke, who both have different motivations for their fight and different fighting styles for player preference. Originally planned for 2024, it ended up coming out in 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC with positive reviews and some controversy. Assassin’s Creed: Mirage
Assassin’s Creed: Mirage is the 13th installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, set in 9th-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age. The story follows former street thief Basim as he joins the fight for peace and liberty with the Hidden Ones against the Order of the Ancients. The game came out in 2023 and is playable on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla
Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is the 12th installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, set in the Viking era between 872-878 AD. The story follows Eivor, a Viking raider who is attempting to establish a clan in England but gets involved in the conflict between the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order. The game came out in 2020 and is playable on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It received positive reviews and takes around 60 hours to complete the main story, or up to 150 hours to complete the game entirely. Check out this Viking epic here:

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag
Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag is the 6th installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, but easily one of the most popular, and is set both in modern times and the Golden Age of Piracy. The story follows Welsh pirate Edward as he searches for fortune and a mythical location, the Observatory. The game came out in 2013 and can currently be played on most modern-day consoles with some graphic updates. Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection is the collection of games following the life of Ezio and his journey to becoming an assassin. The games include Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. Ezio is the most celebrated and iconic assassin in the franchise, and his story is one everyone should play. The collection is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and now the Nintendo Switch. Each game can take anywhere from 30 to 100 hours, depending on how much you want to complete beyond the main story.
